Mojo Monday (in a different kinda way)

So yesterday, I wa all inspired by my post and I had every intention of scrapbooking while I watched the Ravens play BUT, once I went own to the studio, I saw THIS:

And, just like that, the mojo was GONE... so in order to find it again, I decided to dust and clean while I watched an old movie on Netflix (Eddie Murphy)...so, no scrapping done, BUT the mojo is back after this was clean!
CLEAN TABLE WHAT WHAT!!

BRUSHES AND PAINTS ORGANIZED!!

So, tonight, I'm back down here, I can find stuff and I can scrap!!!  If your mojo gets lost, maybe a one hour clean is in order...

Challenge # 1 is up at CKCB!

Hey Counterfeiters!  If you'll recall, I'm still the Guest Designer for the month of October at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog (CKCB) and if you are just reading about it, hop over to CKCB to see what the fun is all about!   We're still inspired by Prima's St.Tropez kit and have been using up our counterfeited kits!

One of St. Tropez's famous residents was the very beautiful French actress, model,
singer, and activist Brigitte Bardot... If you look at images of her, many were done in black & white (which I love; she was absolutely stunning)!     So, the black & white is your clue!!

CHALLENGE #1 IS TO USE YOUR OCT KIT TO SCRAP A BLACK & WHITE PHOTO(s)!  I know I've been scrapping our Maryland staycation a lot with my kit, and fortunately, I already had b/w prints printed.  My first layout is of Thing 1 and I wanted to showcase a pic showing that you don't always have to have the subject facing you!  She had no idea that I was snapping random shots and I so loved this one of her "view."
And then, since I had some time late last night, I knocked out another one featuring the boys! (that makes these layouts #s 10 & 11-whoop whoop!)

I told you I was gonna kill this kit this month!   Hope you'll hop over to the CKCB blog and see what the DT has done and we would LOVE to see what you create for the challenge!  You have until October 31st to link up!

Scrapping Sunday with my Counterfeit Kit !

Still working with my October Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog kit (CKCB)-my bff was going to have a crop yesterday and had to cancel it...but what did I do?  I packed my kit and went over there anyway! We hadn't seen each other in forever and I had a "free " day kinda and I knew she wouldn't turn me away lol.

4 more layouts using my kit so that makes it what ...8 layouts so far??/Whoop Whoop!!

Sorry about that terrible pics/cropping...after all these years, you'd think I could figure it out but I just can't!  I know I still need to add more journaling and I'll do that later.
I'm watching football and scrapping today so I'll see you back later this week with another challenge and more layouts!

Forgeries on the 4th!

On the 4 th of every month,  the DT over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog "forges" something out of their stash...  you know,  make your own kind of embellishment for free or link you to a free printable!
This month,  Susanne came up with a genius idea using this:
I won't give it away,  you'll have to hop over to the Counterfeit Kit blog and see for yourself along with some other great ideas...I just wish I had thought of their ideas long time ago!

Don't forget I'm the Oct GDT at CKCB!

Since I'm the guest designer on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog (CKCB), it was imperative that I set the example and dive right into my kit!  So, for the first time ever, I scrapped my little hands away while watching football on Sunday and got 5 layouts done!  FIVE FIVE FIVE....oops...happy dance!

Let's get this party started shall we?
using the blue paper for a beachy feel
took a different direction with some handcutting and the floral paper
and just because you have a certain "theme" like nautical/beachy papers & embells, it doesn't mean you have to necessarily scrap that kind of theme.  For this one, I chose to focus on the red, white and blue of my son's uniform and his medals: (I did dig into my desk box for a few addtns) but still used the papers from my kit.
and then we get to the beachy stuff...and I chose to go back to using some kraft backgrounds this month since it was begging to be used!  I used to always use black or kraft as my backgrounds like maybe back in 2012, 13 and then came away from it...It's now making a comeback!

Can you believe that the Heidi Swapp bling is from 2010??

So there you have it!  My starting fab 5!  I hope we are inspiring you to get pictures scrapped this month!  See you back here tomorrow!!!

It's Scrapping Sunday ya'll and I'm the Guest Designer at CKCB!

October already???  I'm not ready for fall but here it is!  I'm so stoked because I was invited to be this month's Guest Designer at the Counterfeit Kit (CKCB) blog!  For those of you who may not know what the Counterfeit Kit blog does, it is a blog (DT) that takes a kit from a kit club and uses it as inspiration for you to shop in your own stash.  You basically either recreate the kit OR be inspired by elements of the kit to do your own thing.  Hope that made sense...but if not, here's how -I'll show you!

This month's inspiration kit chosen by DT diva Julene, comes from Prima and the super talented Frank Garcia...voila...Their St. Tropez collection!

The kit colors are all beachy, sandy, with nautical touches...Kit seemed both masculine and feminine to me with the metallic elements with the add of striking florals.
Okay, I usually always start my kit with the PAPERS!  And when I say PAPERS, I mean a lot of them, I'm a paper hoarder and I like options especially since I have a lot of summer pics to scrap.
I focused on the blues, the wood grains and beachy/ocean/sea elements.
And then, I'll be honest, I threw in a Carta Bella (Ahoy There 2014) pre-kit (is that a word??) that I'd been hoarding for quite a bit.

The inspiration kit also had a lot of beachy/water elements:
So, I pulled together a nice little box of beachy/water elements, some flowers (I didn't have many) along with some travel type of goodies.  My kit is pretty big and I seriously hope to get so many layouts done this month to redeem myself from last month's measly count!

I hope you were inspired by my MASSIVE kit; what will strike a chord ??  Will you find things in your stash that you lost or that you forgot you had??  Here is the CKCB DT and their takes on the same exact kit; hope you will be seriously challenged-Can't wait to see what you put together and your creations!

Let's Get Sketchy shall we?

Well, September is coming to an end, I just can't believe it! I did make some time to play along with a few blog challenges this week and I actually got to photograph them today!  First up on my list is Let's Get Sketchy and their September 15th sketch by Brenshevia.

Loved all the DT inspiration so I used my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit and did a simple layout with just some blue & gold.
And, sorry to  say but I've forgotten what number layout this is...maybe just number 2 with the kit??

midweek catchup ! Better late than never!

I know I've been MIA , it's my mantra -every time I think I'm going to have time to blog and craft regularly, Murphy's Law steps in...I've been busy with stuff for Thing 2...for those that don't know me, I have a child with "specialty needs" and we've been running back and forth to the neuro clinic for some concrete answers so we can tailor and tweak his IEP and his life...So it's finally official (we got more than one opinion on a number of things since his seizure back in 2016-another reason why I've been so busy) that I am officially the mother of a child with AUTISM.

He is the light of my life and that's why you always see us together!!

But, as a mom who has to do more on that end, finding balance is critical...so, I am determined to get back on track crafty wise & bloggy wise to keep stress levels in check.  So what's a queen to doto stick to it???  Guest stint over on a crafty blog of course!  The super talented (and kind) ladies over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog (CKCB) asked yours truly to be their upcoming Guest Designer for the WHOLE MONTH OF OCTOBER!  Yes please!! Whoop Whoop!!

So, now that you know, spread the word!  We are gonna get you to use up those supplies, mix old and new, and counterfeit along the way!  Here's a sneak peek of what DT member Julene chose to inspire  ya!!

So,  start thinking about how you wanna be inspired...and if you don't know what the Counterfeit Kit Challenge is all about, hop over here early and check it out then come back on October 1 for all the fun!
